Help Desk Faculty: E-Mail & Storage Options

Email Overview

Manchester Community College provides each student and employee with a college email address.  Email addresses are generated within 24 hours of your very first course registration, your acceptance into a program at MCC or upon hire.

Your email account is the official means of all electronic communication between you and the college. 

Check your email regularly.

Be wary of email scams asking you to revalidate your mailbox or telling you that your quota has been exceeded. MCC or CCSNH would never send this type of message and we would never ask you to go to a web site to revalidate your account.  To protect your private information in your email,  DO NOT REPLY OR PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION to this type of scam.

What is my CCSNH Email Address & Password?

EasyLogin_Username@ccsnh.edu

  1. Your email address is your EasyLogin username followed by @ccsnh.edu
  2. Your email password is your EasyLogin password

Still Having Trouble?

If you have any problems accessing your email, submit an IT Helpdesk ticket, call the Helpdesk at (603) 206-8080 or visit the IT Helpdesk in the Library/Learning Commons or in the HUB (across from the Bursar's counter).

Spam Filtering & Quarantined Emails with Barracuda

CCSNH uses the Barracuda Email Security Gateway for MCC's email security gateway and it manages and filters all inbound and outbound email traffic to protect MCC  faculty & staff from email-borne threats and data leaks. 

On occasion, your may find an email or group of emails that have been quarantined which you want to "unquarantine" .

Following is some basic documentation and steps to take.

Barracuda - Accept All Cookies

 

Barracuda uses cookies to enhance your spam filtering experience.   Make sure to Accept All Cookies when accessing Barracuda and managing your quarantined emails.

Adding Departmental Email Account to Outlook

Go to the Control Panel on your computer. 

Change view to Small Icons (old style view) 

Click on Mail to open & then select Show Profiles. 

Click on Add. 

Provide the Profile Name (this is a description field). Click OK

In the Email Address field, type in the Department Email Address and then click on Next. (Leave the password blank.) 

The Microsoft Sign In box will appear.   Enter your employee email address and click on Next.    If you’re asked to provide a password, enter your EasyLogin password

The profile will be added to your outlook view.  It may take an hour or so for the department email account to fully populate in the Outlook application 

Accessing Email on Mobile Devices

Email is also accessible via most mobile devices. Below is a quick tutorial for setting up your email on an iOS or Android device.

  1. Download and launch the official Outlook App Icon Microsoft Outlook App from the  or the Google Play Store.
  2. Select the "Add an Account" option.
  3. Press the "Office 365" button.
  4. Enter your @ccsnh.edu email address.
  5. When you go to enter your EasyLogin password, you will be redirected to the CCSNH central login screen.
  6. Enter your EasyLogin password.
  7. You will then be redirected back to the Outlook App with your account added in.

OneDrive Storage

EVERYONE at MCC has OneDrive storage for use both on & off campus.  Check out the document below for details on how to log onto your OneDrive and tips for using it.

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • Information & data stored within OneDrive and the sharing of this data must comply with CCSNH System Policy 562.06 Information Security Policy.
  • CCSNH is unable to restore files accidentally deleted from the OneDrive. Instead, all users have the ability to restore deleted files from their OneDrive Recycle Bin for 30 days. After the 30 days, are gone and not restorable.

Free O365

All MCC students & employees have access to and can choose to install free copies of the Office 365 products. Follow the instructions below to access or install a copy of Office 365 Apps on your personal computer using your MCC Email Account.

  1. Everyone can login into their MCC email account using their EasyLogin username and password. 
  2. From the Inbox, click on the Application Launcher Icon at the top left side of the screen.

Click on the waffle grid to display view a list all the applications included in the Microsoft O365 Suite.

3. Click on Office 365.

Click on Office 365 to open the download the suite option

4.  Click on the Install Office Apps to install Office 365 on your personal computer or you can access any of the applications available via your web browser by clicking on the application icon

Click on Install Office Apps to download the MS O365 office suite installer.  Once downloaded, open the downloads folder and double click on the installer file to begin installation of Microsoft O365 Office Suite.

 

Viewing a Department Email Account Via WebMail

If you've been added to a departmental email account to monitor or respond to emails....follow these steps to view the new email account:

If you’re using MS Outlook application on your computer, the new departmental inbox will appear at the bottom of your email folder list. 

Here is an example of my mailbox and then the department’s email account – mcctechs below. I collapsed my MCC email account so you can see the MCCTechs email account.

If you are using webmail (via an internet browser), departmental email accounts do not show up automatically.  You will need to do some additional setup to view - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/open-and-use-a-shared-mailbox-in-outlook-on-the-web-98b5a90d-4e38-415d-a030-f09a4cd28207 - click on the option Add the Shared mailbox so it displays under your primary mailbox.

  1. Sign in to your account in Outlook on the web.
  2. For Exchange Online mailboxes, right-click Folders in the left navigation pane, and then choose Add shared folder
  3. In the Add shared folder dialog box, type the name or email address of someone who has shared a mailbox with you, and then click Add. Or, type the name of the shared mailbox you are a member of, such as info@contoso.com.

The shared mailbox displays in your Folder list in Outlook on the web. You can expand or collapse the shared mailbox folders as you can with your primary mailbox.

You also can remove the shared mailbox from your Folder list. To remove it, right-click the shared mailbox, and then click Remove shared folder.
