The MCC Library is a central part of the student and faculty experience at MCC. We support teaching and learning and help students succeed in college, careers, and life! We can help you find course materials, assess information literacy assignments and provide research instruction (synchronous or asynchronous) for your students.
This website is the online library--available 24/7. Its databases, eBooks and research guides provide credible sources for students' research projects and papers. Please explore! In 2017, a Community College Libraries and Librarians and Student Success study came out, providing evidence that principles of "embedded" librarianship, where librarians and faculty closely collaborate, boosts student success.
The MCC Library has created online research guides that organize library and external resources by subject. If you are interested in having the library create a guide or if you have information to add to an existing guide, email us
We also have a series of guides designed to introduce students to using the library and doing research. Please encourage your students to use these, and feel free to link to any of our guides in your Canvas courses, syllabi, and assignments.
About a week before the semester begins, we match a guide to each course. You can find that guide in Canvas if you click on MCC Library Resources on the left menu. If you'd like a different guide linked to your course, feel free to ask us!
Request a librarian visit for your class. We can visit your classroom, do a live Zoom visit, and/or record instruction so you can share it with an asynchronous class or create an assignment around it.
The MCC Library provides online access to thousands of journals and other publications. You can check if we provide access to a specific publication, by searching eJournals by title from the tab on the library homepage. To browse all Higher Ed titles, click here (you'll be prompted to login with your EasyLogin). The check "Higher Education" in the subject list on the left.
