Self-Study Resources

Don't panic! This guide is designed to direct you to the extra help you need when you need it. We have resources you can access whether you are on or off-campus.  Use this guide while you're waiting to see a tutor, or to improve your study skills.

Free Online Tutoring

Brainfuse logo

Free online tutoring is available to all students 24/7. With this service—called Brainfuse— you work with tutors via chat, video or have them review papers that you submit to them.

It's all free.

Once you are logged in to Canvas, you are already logged in for Brainfuse. The link to Brainfuse is on the left navigation menu inside Canvas courses under 24/7 Tutoring.

Khan Academy Logo

It's free to register as a learner at Khan Academy, where you can watch videos on dozens of academic topics. Many MCC faculty and Academic Success Center staff recommend Khan as a study aid.

Academic Advising Center Services

The Academic Advising Center provides advising (including academic success coaching), tutoring and career development and transfer services. You can schedule an appointment for any of these services online. Make an appointment in Navigate now. You can also schedule time with a librarian in Navigate -- choose Library Research Help.
